The seven seat Tesla Model S Sedan is slated for a late 2011 release for just $49,900. The electric Model S will feature a 300-mile range per charge, with a swappable battery that charges in under 45 minutes. This battery and the Tesla’s drivetrain will push the Tesla Model S to 60mph in just 5.5 seconds, giving it a speedy edge to compete with many internal combustion cars on the road today. Tesla is planning to build 20,000 Model S Sedans per year starting in the 3rd quarter of 2011.
