If you were planning a trip to Egypt anytime soon and you don’t know exactly where to spend the night or what to visit, we're here to suggest the remarkable town of Farafra, which can be found in close proximity to Egypt's White Desert. The town itself impresses with beautiful simplicity exemplified through traditional architectural elements that lack embellishments or complex patterns.

As we mentioned before, the town is near a national park of Egypt called White Desert, which also represents one of the main tourist attractions in the area along with the El-Mufid Lake and hot springs at Bir Sitta. Found about 28 miles north of town, the White Desert boasts large chalk rock formations that were created by the sandstorms that occur in the area from time to time. Other rock formations feature impressive displays of color ranging from crisp white to cream and brown.

Another important attraction is the Farafra Oasis, which includes the renowned Roman spring of Ain Bishay. The oasis includes beautiful examples of palm trees as well as apricot, olive, carob and citrus trees, all being tended and nurtured by several families that reside in the area. Furthermore, the oasis includes over 100 natural wells in total, many of which are important tourist attractions that can be used for swimming and other leisure activities.
