Cholistan is locally known as Rohi. This famous desert is 30 Km from Bahawalpur, and comprises an area of approximately 16,000 sq.km, which extends up to the Thar Desert, and over to Sindh. Cholistan Jeep Rally was a message of peace for the whole world and that’s why it’s also called as Peace Rally. Women for the first time were allowed to take part in the 10th Cholistan desert jeep rally.
More than 80 experienced and professional drivers participated in the 224 kilometre long jeep rally on the sandy desert track. At least 15 check posts had been set up on the way to minimize the chance of short-cut.
