Located int the waters of northern Fiji's far-flung Vanua Levu, owned by Dietrich Mateschitz, C.E.O. of Red Bull drink company, and launched in 2011 as a private island resort. The resort is 80 percent self-sustainable and prides itself on an integral philosophy, incorporating elements of the entire island into each guest's experience, from island-made spa products to cuisine derived from indigenous plants, fruit and aquatic life. As of October, the private island property in Fiji became the world's first resort to include a ride in its own submarine - a futuristic two-seater called DeepFlight Super Falcon - as part of its all-inclusive package. Previously, an hour-long ride in the submarine cost $2,000 per person.
