OSVehicle Urban Tabby Flat Pack Car
URBAN TABBY by OSVehicle is an open source platform for vehicles with a universal chassis that can be assembled in less than 60 minutes, can accommodate 2 to 4 passengers, and is compatible with all types of engines, including electric and hybrid ones.
The two-seated car is available in electric, hybrid or traditional petrol engine varieties and can reach a top speed of 85 km/h. For those that do not fancy the DIY challenge, there is an additional option of purchasing a fully finished version of the vehicle.
The vehicle, which is available in two-seater or four-seater varieties, is expected to cost between £3,300 and £4,900. The instructions for building the vehicle are also supposed to go online so that anyone can create their own Urban Tabby.
The Italian company is hoping to launch their first kits for sale in the spring, although the plans are available now for those willing to manufacture their own parts and build it themselves.
So far, the company has seen designs with two or three wheels, city cars, golf carts, street food vehicles, and off-road explorers. The Tabby can be customized and made longer or shorter to create vehicles with two or four seats, to increase its cargo capacity or its space.
