Strange Facts of ICC Championship Trophy 2013

ICC Champions Trophy was started as a Knock Out Title event in 1998, at which participating teams have no other choice but to stand as winning till end, losing team knocks out. Well the 1st edition was won by South Africa but later after its 2 editions it was designed to schedule in Round Robin format of cricket. So here are the Top 10 Outcomes of ICC Championship Trophy 2013.

Last Championship Trophy

The 7th edition of this Champions trophy was the last version, and later on in 2017 ICC have planned to make it Test Cricket Champions Trophy, GOD knows how it will be improvised but anyways the decision is made in regard to promote Test cricket scope.

India became 2 times Champion

As the team India before appeared in 2 finals of ICC Champions trophies finals but never managed to win it, this time the odds went against England and India won this last edition of Champions trophy for the 2nd time.

Australia- India – 2 Times Winner

Would you believe Australia in first 4 ICC Championship events never cope up to even qualify for finals and won last previous 2 editions of ICC championship trophies, indeed it was great Captaincy of Ricky Ponting clasp behind that, but this time India equalizes the record by bringing the trophy home.

MS Dhoni- The first Captain to win all 3 ICC events

So at the well end of this format of ICC competition, M.S Dhoni – the winning captain is the 1st Captain in ICC history to hold records for winning all 3 formats of Cricket Championship tournaments. Good Luck for Misbah

The most surprising fact among Top 10 Outcomes of ICC Championship Trophy 2013 was the captain of Pakistani side cricket has never played an official ODI match before in England before this Champions trophy, amazed? But it’s true.

Only this ICC event for Pakistan

Only in ICC Championship Trophy series Pakistan has been successful to defeat India, although they lost this time but India have defeated multiple times Pakistan in other ICC tournaments, like ICC WORLD CUP and ICC T-20 WORLD CUP.

West Indies – The highest Losing team

West Indies amazingly has the record of highest wins over Australia in ICC Champions trophy series but surprisingly has the highest loss ratio than any other team in ICC Champions Trophy too i.e. 11.

England 2nd hometown finals defeat

England has once qualified for finals but they loss and guess what that ICC Championship was also hold at England, and this last edition of ICC Championship trophy was also the hometown defeat for England in finals against India.

Bad Luck for Pakistan and England

Despite of the fact that Pakistan has never won ICC Champions trophy, the team is also one of the two among all ICC Champions teams that have never won ICC Championship Trophy with England too. All other teams have at least won it once. Good Luck Pakistan and England for future tournaments but this Championship Trophy was never made for them.
