2010 Commonwealth Games India - Opening Ceremony
The 2010 Commonwealth Games is the nineteenth Commonwealth Games, and the ninth to be held under that name. The Games are being held in New Delhi, India from 3 to 14 October 2010, the largest multi-sport event conducted to date in Delhi and India.
The opening ceremony took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main stadium of the event. It is also the first time the Commonwealth Games is held in India and the second time the event has been held in Asia after 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

There were cultural extravaganza by about 7,000 men, women and children in a gala Commonwealth Games opening ceremony which was lead by Maestro A R Rahman's performance at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

On Sunday October 3rd, the nineteenth Commonwealth Games starts officially open in New Delhi, India. 72 nations are sending more than 6,000 athletes to New Delhi to compete in 17 sports in 26 different venues from October 3rd through the 14th.
