IPTL Exhibition Game Take Over By Bollywood Stars
Bollywood stars made its presence felt in the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) on Monday with Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone and Askhay Kumar playing an exhibition match with greats of the game here. The crowd at the Indoor Gandhi Stadium had come to watch Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic take on each other but they did not mind a splash of Bollywood before the start of the match between Indian Aces and UAE Royals.
The fun time on court began with Aamir Khan and Federer on one side of the court while laughing at the other end was Sania Mirza and world number one Novak Djokovic. Djokovic's coach Boris Becker too enjoyed the show. Aamir got the maximum time on court with the sport's biggies. Padukone, Akshay and Ritesh Deshmukh joined the party later, and not to forget the original little master Sunil Gavaskar, who was around all three days as the co-owner of Indian Aces.
As we know that Deepika Padukone comes from a sports family. Her dad Prakash Padukone is a world class badminton player, who was the first Indian to win the All England Championship. Deepika's sister Anisha is a golfer and Deepika herself is a badminton and tennis player though she did not pursue a career in this field. Deepika got that much needed opportunity to show off her tennis skills in a IPTL Friendly Match held in Delhi today. She played a mixed doubles with none other than the very popular world player Roger Federer. Deepika and Roger played against Novak Djokovic and Sania Mirza.
The other celebrities who turned up included Mohammad Azharuddin and Lara Dutta, actress wife of IPTL founder Mahesh Bhupathi. After the match, there was a Bollywood style after party hosted for Federer. Amitabh Bachchan graced the event and shook a leg with Deepika. They also made Roger dance to some Bollywood tunes!
