Summer Dresses for Busty Girls - Flatter Your Figure

Never fear -- there are plenty of sweet, summery dresses out there that are completely flattering for you. We want to accentuate your curves, but we don't want the bust and the cleavage to be all anyone sees.

Summer poses several obstacles for busty girls, with the main obstacle being the bra issue. With all the strapless, spaghetti strap, and halter options out there, ladies with a large chest can find it frustrating to find a summer dress they love with a neckline that allows them to have the proper support. Let's face it -- strapless bras just aren't for everyone.

Wrap it up, Girl: A wrap style dress is going to be fabulous on you every time. Whether it has a bit of a short sleeve, like this, or a thinner strap, the wrap will accentuate your waist while giving you appropriate coverage. If need be, layer a cami underneath. Diane von Furstenburg dress, $345 at Chickdowntown.

Don't Get Too Skinny on the Strap: A really thin strap is a big NO. Even if it's giving you good support, it's always going to look like your breasts are just biding their time for a getaway. Think of a dam -- if there's just a little water, a small dam will do, but if there's a huge amount of water behind it, would you stand in front of a dinky dam? No way! Trina Turk 'Citrus' Dress, $238

Halters CAN Work: The halter style is very flattering on your AS LONG AS it provides coverage and support. If it's skimpy at all, or if it gives you side boob, it's not going to be as flattering as it could be. The deep V draws the eye in a vertical line, giving you a slimmer figure (plus it shows off a bit of cleavage!). If you need to hide the cleavage, though, there are other styles that will work better. Adrianna Papell Floral Silk Halter Dress, $178 at Nordstrom.

Give Yourself Some Shape: A high neck frock with no waistline isn't going to do you any favors. If it goes out from the chest and drops straight from there, it's going to look like your stomach is bigger than it is. If you're looking for something that doesn't fit around the tummy, look for an empire waistline, but you're still going to do better with more of a scoop neckline. And remember, no skinny little straps! Woven Eyelet Dress, $24.90 at Forever 21

V is Favorite Fashion Letter: A simple V neck dress like this is going to be gorgeous on you. The straps are thick enough to hide a bra strap, but still thin enough to look super summery. And, the defined waistline will show off your curves. Even if you don't have the slimmest tummy, a higher waistline like this could be flattering -- try it on before you just say no. Again, if the V is too deep, find a cami (perhaps with additional support) to pair with the dress. Polkadot Bubble Dress, $24.80 at Forever 21
