Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1, a Super High-Speed Digital Still Camera Unveiled

On Sunday, the much awaited EXILIM Pro EX-F1 digital camera was displayed by Casio at the ongoing CES event in Las Vegas.

EX-F1 is the fastest continuous-shooting camera till date, offering full-resolution shooting at an unbelievable 60 frames per second.

Casio’s latest camera has the continuous recording functionality, which enables users to save as many as 60 images to the camera’s buffer before the shutter button is pressed, implying that a delayed response on the shutter button doesn’t necessarily equal a missed photo.

Shooting frame rate can also be changed between 1 and 60 fps, and with the 60-shot buffer the EX-F1 can shoot for a solid minute at 1 fps, keeping in mind that the owner has the available memory to support it.

Thanks to the Rapid Flash function, users can shoot up to 20 continuous flash shots at 7 fps, making the EX-F1 equally fast in low light. And for ultra-slow-motion movies, Casio’s camera records video at 300, 600, or 1200 fps.

The key specs and features of Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 are:

# Effective resolution: 6.0 megapixels

# 1/1.8 high-speed CMOS sensor

# RAW (.DNG), JPEG, MOV file formats

# SD/SDHC memory format

# 12x (36-432mm), f2.7-4.6 optical zoom

# ISO range: 100 to 1600

# Contrast-detection AF

# Multi-pattern, center-weighted, and spot metering

# Program Auto, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and Manual exposure modes

# Shutter speeds of 1/4000 to 60 seconds

Priced at $1000, Casio’s EX-F1 digital camera should hit store shelves by around March 2008.[/b]
