Is Sugar Really Fat Free ??

Post by lovedesire » Jul 26, 2009 Views: 761

Before you eat it, yes sugar is fat free! But once you eat it, it will turn into fat if you don’t burn it off shortly after your consumption.

As stated in the book, You On A Diet by Michael F. Roizen, M.D. and Mehmet C. Oz, M.D.:

"When sugar, which is quickly absorbed and sent to the liver, meets the liver in the digestion process, the liver tells your body to turn that sugar into fat if it can’t be used immediately for energy."

So, is sugar really fat free? Now you know, it is not!

Potential or common side effects of too much sugar

• Anxiety

• Aging

• Bloating

• Hyperactivity in children

• Constipation

• Heart diseases

• Fatigue

• Diabetes

• Obesity

• Food craving

• Lack of focus or concentration (leads to decrease productivity)

• Tooth decay

• Lost concentration

• Lack of ability to sit still

• Diabetes

• Premature aging and wrinkles

• Weight increase leading to health challenges

• Weakened immune system — get sick more easily and frequently

• Difficulty sleeping — especially for children

Sugar in other common forms or names

• Dextrose

• Fructose

• Glucose

• High fructose corn syrup

• Saccharose

• Sucrose

• Sweetener

• Syrup

In case you are not aware, high concentrations of sugar can also be found in the following:

• Canned foods

• Adults and children’s canned and boxed fruit juice, soda, and cereal

• All kinds of sweet snacks, pastries, and baked goods

• Fat free yogurt and ice cream

• Energy bars

• Energy drinks

How To Minimize Your Sugar Intake

Purified, distilled, or filtered water is by far the best thirst quencher. By drinking water, you could cut down your sugar intake by 35 grams (approximately 1 can of sugar soda) to 140 grams (approximately 4 cans of sugar soda) or more per day.

Depending on how many cans of sugary soda you drink each day, you will also eliminate those unwanted colorings, preservatives, toxic materials, and excess salts from your body.

Therefore, start today by gradually working pure drinking water into your healthy habits and phasing out sugar drinks whenever you can. The sooner you reduce your sugar consumption, the faster your body will help you stay healthy by strengthening your immune system and lowering your weight.

If you can cut your sugar intake by 35 grams (1 can of sugar soda) per day, it will add up to cutting down your sugar intake by approximately 28 pounds per year.

Let’s do the math:

35 grams of sugar per 12 oz. soda x 365 days = 12,775 grams of sugar

Take 12,775 grams divided by 454 grams (a pound) = 28.13 pounds of sugar per year!

Can you imagine how much better you will feel from simply cutting out one can of soda per day?

By the way, our bodies do not need that extra supply of table sugar to function properly. As long as you are eating enough fresh fruits and vegetables, you are getting all the sugar your body needs.

Advantages of eating more fresh fruits and vegetables

• Give your body the natural fiber to help with digestion and elimination

• Boost your immune system to keep you away from sickness

• Improve your concentration

• Improve your mood

• Achieve anti-aging benefits

• Overall better health …Priceless!

Minimize your table or regular sugar intake whenever possible. Choose organic sugar over refined sugar for the following reasons:

Human nature: Organic sugar is 2 to 3 times more expensive than regular sugar. The more expensive it gets, the less you are likely to use it. Consciously or subconsciously, you will feed yourself and your family or friends less sugar.

Health reasons: Organic sugar contains no artificial additives or preservatives, which are harmful to your body.

Hope the above information is helpful!
