Aloo Tikki

Serves 4
Cooking time (approximately): 10 minutes

~Ingredients

3 medium-sized potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
5 bread slices
1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 tbsp green chillies, finely chopped
½ cup oil for frying
Salt to taste

~Method

Soak the bread slices in water, then squeeze out the water.

Mix it well with the mashed potatoes.

Add cumin seeds, chillies and salt. Mix well.

Roll the mixture into medium-size balls.

Fry in oil, till golden brown.

Serve hot with tomato sauce or bread.

Health counter: The tikkis taste great but are high in calories because they are deep fried. The calorie-conscious, therefore, should not have more than one.
