A South African-themed restaurant, delicatessen and wine bar in London’s Square Mile is offering what is said to be world’s most expensive Xmas hamper. It’s a £45,000 bumper package that consists of a selection of the rarest and most desired meats, cheeses and wines.
Romanée Conti 1970, Petrus 1986, Richard Hennesy Cognac and Cristal - the champagne popular with spend-thrift footballers are among the rarest wines included in the hamper. The beverages include 1kg Royal Beluga caviar and a buffalo horn spoon, one leg of Spanish Joselito ham with beechwood & stainless steel stand, truffles and cheeses. Not only this, the hamper comes bundled with a rare South African merlot that was requested by Nelson Mandela on his 85th birthday.
