Once you explore the power of NoteTab Light, you may find thistext editor beautiful despite its off-putting interface. The left-handcolumn displays a list of commands, called clips, that do anything frominserting bits of text to generating code. Each library, the roster ofwhich appears as buttons at the bottom of the screen, contains its ownset of clips. The FTP library, for example, lets you create serverprofiles, connect, upload and download files, and issue variouscommands. The HTML library auto-completes HTML tags. The publisher'ssite offers many user-created libraries, or you can make your own. Youcan create your own clips by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F2 and edit them easily.
The Tidy HTML clip (in the HTML and Utilities libraries)incorporates the free download HTML Tidy, available on Download.com.While the TopStyle library similarly requires a CSS editor of thatname, we couldn't get it to work. NoteTab Light isn't a tool for casualusers, but power users and programmers should find plenty to love.
