Dell Studio 15 Special Edition 15.4-inch Notebook: The Special Edition gets an LED-backlit display and a Black Vapor exterior paint scheme. Technically, the Special Edition is available in three separate trims with various levels of equipment. All share a 2.0GHz Intel Pentium dual core CPU and Intel’s integrated 4500MHD graphics processor, while the display has a 1440×900 resolution, a step up from the regular Studio 15’s 1280×800 resolution.



Otherwise, the Special Editions are nearly identical to the lesser Studio 15s, with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 as the standard-issue operating system, although the top-of-the-range Studio 15 Special Edition gets Home Premium 64-bit. Standard RAM is fixed at 3GB, though certain models get 4GB. Storage ranges from a 250GB hard drive to a 320GB unit in higher-end models. The Special Edition Studio 15s are priced at $799, $849 and $949. The standard edition notebooks range in price from $599 to $849.
