Chill your Lemonade with these hacks

There’s no better time of year to indulge in a nice, cold glass of lemonade.

It’s sweet, tangy and refreshing, and it’s a summer staple we look forward to sipping on all year long.

Though there’s certainly nothing wrong with a classic, we think it’s time to up your lemonade game just a little.

From the ice you serve it with, to the flavors you put in it, lemonade can be so much more than sugar, water and lemons. With these simple hacks, you’ll be sure to impress friends and family all summer long!

Make Lemon Ice Cubes

Lemon ice cubes are a great way to use up leftover lemons, and an even better way to chill your lemonade. They’re pretty and tasty, so make a whole bunch and keep them at the ready.

1. Slice half your lemons thinly.

2. Squeeze the juice of the other half into the holes of a mini muffin tin and zest the peel into the juice. Fill to the top with water.

3. Place the lemon slices on top of the lemon water - one for each hole of the mini muffin tin. Freeze.

Chill Your Lemonade with Iced Tea

If you’re serving up a big batch of lemonade and want to keep it nice and chilled, why not chill it with iced tea? A big block of iced tea will melt slowly and start to turn your lemonade into an Arnold Palmer - yum!

1. Fill a tupperware container with your favorite iced tea. Freeze.

2. Place the frozen block of iced tea in the lemonade and enjoy!

Flavor Your Store Bought Lemonade

There’s nothing wrong with buying ready made lemonade, instead of making it. If you do, however, want to make it taste even better, you have a couple of simple options.

1. Infuse Your Lemonade

Infuse your lemonade with an herb, like basil. Simply place a handful of basil into the mouth of your lemonade jug and let it infuse for about 45 minutes. The lemonade will take on a faint flavor of whatever herb you add and taste delicious.

2. Create Flavored Syrups

Create flavored syrups for your guests to customize their lemonade. Combining one part sugar and one part water on the stove, and simmering it until the sugar dissolves creates a simple syrup. Adding lavender, thyme or mint, for example, while the liquid is still hot, will infuse you syrups. The possibilities are endless!
