Kodak IM5 - First Android Smartphone Looks Promising

Renowned camera maker Kodak has launched its first Android smartphone - Kodak IM5. This hand smartphone sports a 5-inch screen with 720x1280p display resolution. It has 13MP rear camera (with LED flash) that comes with unique image management software and 5MP front camera. The smartphone packs 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card; 1GB RAM and is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz processor from MediaTek.

The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, but is expected to receive an upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.0. The smartphone will first launch in Europe with expected price of $350 by the end of March, followed by a global rollout.

IM5 has been built by Kodak in a joint venture with British firm Bullitt. Bullitt is known for its ruggedized phone designs, which the company licenses to non-smartphone related brands.
