Facebook has turn over Bing Search engine and debuted its own search tool as a replacement. The news has been kept unusually low key with no official announcement. Instead, the news was only confirmed to Reuters.

The move comes after some major changes to Facebook's own search tool. The social network has been building its own tools for a while now and Bing simply provided a way to give answers to data outside of Facebook. With the new search tool, users will be able to find specific posts, comments and other data from the friend networks.

In a statement, Facebook said, "We're not currently showing web search results in Facebook Search because we're focused on helping people find what's been shared with them on Facebook. We continue to have a great partnership with Microsoft of lots of different areas."

Microsoft also shared a similar sentiment. A statement said, "Facebook recently changed its search experience to focus on helping people tap into information that's been shared with them on Facebook versus a broader set of web results. We continue to partner with Facebook in many different areas."

This move will eventually prove to be beneficial for the users of Facebook as the network is home to over 1 billion people and 1 trillion posts, all of which could become index-able in the future.
