Kareena Kapoor First Biopic - Rasidi Ticket
Kareena Kapoor has confirmed that she has been offered a film across Farhan Akhtar, and is in the process of reading the script.
The film is about Punjabi Writer and poet, Amrita Prita and her love story with Urdu Poet Sahir Ludhianvi. For those looking for more information on the project, it may be based on Amrita Pritam's autobiography 'Rasidi Ticket', which makes a mention of the affair between herself and Sahir, before Sahir moved on to Sudha Malhotra.
Amrita Pritam has been awarded with India's highest literary award, the Jnanpith, for her prolific writing in Punjabi and Hindi.
The love story
Sahir, who remained a bachelor all his life, had two failed love affairs that made him an embittered man. He shared a passionate affair with Amrita Pritam, and to prove his love he once built a mansion in front of her home. Amrita was said to be so besotted that she doodled his name hundreds of times on a sheet of paper at press conferences. Sahir would puff away with his cigarettes, and after he left, Amrita would smoke the cigarette butts left by him. After his death, she hoped the smoke from her cigarettes would meet him in the other world.
