Samsung latest launch in India is a slim sleek looking touchscreen handset called Samsung S5620 Monte. The Monte is designed to offer users a full range of services from connectivity to media that will rival their own Corby series.

• a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution,
• 3G support with support for EDGE/GPRS as well,
• Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, USB (micro)
• GPS with A-GPS support
• 3 megapixel camera featuring geo-tagging and smile detection
• Samsung’s DNSe for music
• MicroSD card support (up to 16GB)
• A 3.5mm handsfree port

It’s a bold step incorporating so much functionality into a device that is priced at approximately Rs. 8,850 the MRP would be much higher, presumably in the Rs. 12,000 – Rs. 15,000 range. The one media aspect that the handset seems to be lacking in is DivX and XviD video codec support. Nevertheless it still seems like something to save up for, stay tuned for the review.

Samsung Monte mobile is simply beautiful. Definitely one of my favorites. I'd rather buy it then an iPhone. Everyone buys iPhones nowadays, but I think that this Samsung would be a better choice. Yes you can access Yahoo IM over wifi internet. There's no need to subscribe with the network operator. About the radio, is it your new or old phone ? Was it working without headset before ? If its new than visit the Samsung gallery as it might be in warranty and doing R&D ourself can break the warranty. how do u rate monte vis a vis corby pro?? which is better value for money..thanks for ur efforts..
