Are you aware of the fact,that Pakistan has the highest rate of breast cancer for any Asian population accounting to 40,000 deaths per year? Approximately 1 in 9 of Pakistani women will suffer from breast cancer at some point in their lives. Whereas with early diagnosis,a patient’s chance of surviving breast cancer is higher than 90%.


The Pink Ribbon is an international symbol of support for breast cancer awareness. Therefore, creating widespread awareness is the principal goal of the Pink Ribbon Campaignin Pakistan and their focus is to raise awareness about


The dangerously high level of incidence of breast cancer in Pakistan
The disease is curable and need not be fatal;
The disease can be detected early, even by simple self diagnosis
The life after cancer is worth living



HEC Pakistan has collaborated withPink Ribbon for this noble cause and has initiated a Pink RibbonYouth Awareness Program aimed at the massive awareness of all Girl’s Colleges and Universities across Pakistan, in this connection pink ribbon day is planned on 21st March 2012.
