Olympus Tough TG-2 Toughest Digital Camera
The new Olympus Tough TG-2 is one of the toughest cameras that Olympus have ever released. The 12 megapixel TG-2 is crushproof to a force of 100kg, waterproof to a depth of 15m, shockproof from heights of up to 2.1m, and freezeproof to -10°C.
The Olympus TG2 has a 25-100mm equivalent zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/2 at the wide-angle end. Other highlights include an integrated GPS module, Full HD movies with stereo sound and video recording at up to 240 frames per second, and the ability to take auxiliary lenses.
New to the TG-2 is a telemacro mode which, when combined with a subject distance of 1cm, effectively turns the camera into a digital microscope. The TG-2 is also FlashAir compatible for transferring password-protected images to selected smartphones and social network. The Olympus Tough TG-2 comes in red or black and sells for £349.99 / $379.99 in the UK and the US, respectively.
