LG has announced it will unveil a prototype handset that can be recharged by the sun thanks to a solar charge built into its rear panel. Otherwise, the handset looks nearly identical to the company's existing KF750 Secret cellphone, though no other information on its specs was known. The prototype will be shown off in the company's ECO Friendly exhibit and promises to provide enough power for the conventional built-in battery with three minutes of talk time after a 10-minute charge.

Like the similar Samsung Blue Earth handset introduced on Thursday, the LG phone is made from recycled plastics and packaged in environmentally-friendly packaging. LG doesn't hint at if or when the unnamed handset would become available at stores.
