LaCie Internet Space Multimedia Hard Drive - Reviews

Post by Ahmad » Nov 08, 2008 Views: 2030

LaCie Internet Space Multimedia Hard Drive: The multimedia drive can attach to home networks via its Gigabit Ethernet port, as well as share multimedia content on compatible UPnP or DLNA-certified players and adapters. This includes compatible game consoles such as Microsoft's Xbox 360 or Sony's PlayStation 3.

A USB 2.0 jack allows for direct hook-ups to PCs, external disk drives or flash media. Users can also access content stored on the Internet Space via the web, by logging onto homelacie.com. The networked computer does not have to be powered on in order for file access. As it's meant for home use, LaCie made the set-up process easy to understand, claiming it takes just minutes. Supported operating systems include Windows XP and Vista, as well as Mac OS X 10.3 or newer.

The LaCie Internet Space is due out later this month in the UK, priced at the equivalent of about $215, including taxes. A 1TB version is offered for about $285, tax-inclusive.
