With just three days to go for its release, Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4 is in some legal trouble.
Ad jingle composer Ram Sampath has moved Bombay High Court alleging histunes have been copied in the film. The film is due for release onApril 11, and its music album is out.
But Ram Sampath, who has composed some 3,000 advertising jingles, has sought to restrain Roshan from using his tracks in the movies, andasked for damages worth Rs 2 crore.
Justice DG Karnik will hear the matter tomorrow, but before that he will be listening to the music in his chamber this evening.
Krazzy 4's music is composed by Rakesh Roshan's brother RajeshRoshan. According to Sampath, four tracks from the film are a "directlift" from his tunes for the advertisement for Sony Ericssoncell-phones last year.
Interestingly, both the advertisement as well as one of theallegedly `lifted' songs in the movie feature Bollywood heart-throbHrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan's son.
The film stars Rajpal Yadav, Irfan Khan and Arshad Warsi.
According to Sampath's lawyers, when the music of Krazzy 4 startedplaying on television channels, he noticed its similarity to his tunesfor the advertisement.
