Kinetic Astronaut Sculpture at Coachella
Los Angeles-based company Poetic Kinetic Inc. is behind Escape Velocity, a 36-foot-tall monumental mobile sculpture that's kinetic. That means this fun-in-the-sun loving astronaut has radio-controlled animatronics that lets it give fun gestures like the peace sign or a thumbs-up. It is also equipped with video projection mapping, which means video content can be shown on the astronaut's helmet. You can personally interact with it by having your own face projected right onto its helmet.
Poetic Kinetics is the same company that worked with street art duo Herakut last year to create the Coachella Snail. They call themselves, "Dreamers, creators and producers of audience-engaging art, experiential moving sculptures, cutting edge film making and more."
