Kaif started off her career as a model and later made her Bollywood debut with Boom (2003). She had her first commercial success with the comedy Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005) and received praise for her performance in Vipul Amrutlal Shah's commercially and critically successful Namastey London (2007). Later that year, she starred in the blockbusters Partner and Welcome, and has thus established herself as one of the most promising actresses of Bollywood.[
