That ll be appreciable.
For a picture to put in as an avatar, you must upload it to some site, you can use the post's multi-file uploader and get the url of the uploaded image.
Alternately tou can upload the image to some site like https://www.tinypic.com
Once you get the full url of the image e.g
https://img.xcitefun.org/users/2008/04/ ... avatar.png

then log in to xcitefun forum.
Click the profile link near the log out link.
scroll down to the bottom of the page
find
Link to off-site Avatar:
and put the url of the image in the box in front of it and press Submit
