For those who are getting problems accessing ROOT on your iDevice and DiskAid says your iPhone / iPod / iPad is not jailbroken - fix is underneath:

1) Open Cydia:
2) Search afc2add
3) Install afc2add
4) Reboot device

Problem is caused by missing AFC2 code from jailbreaks (Eg Sprit and Blackra1n) which is required for transfer of files through SHH on a jailbroken device.
