half kg Boiled Chickpeas
1 Red Onion – thickly sliced
1 White Onion - Sliced
1 White Onion – very finely chopped
1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
3-4 Green Chillies - whole
2 Chopped Tomato
1 tablespoon Tomato paste
1.5 tablespoon Cumin
1.5 tablespoon Coriander Seeds - Crushed
1 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
2 tablespoon Mango Powder (Amchoor)
1 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
½ teaspoon Turmeric
2-3 Cinnamon sticks
2-3 Bay Leaves
3-4 Black Peppers
3-4 Cloves
2-3 Fresh Green Chillies - sliced
1 Handful Fresh Coriander - chopped
Oil
Salt to taste
1. Heat oil in a non stick wok
2. Add ginger/garlic paste and white onions & cook for a few minutes - do not let them brown
3. Next add tomatoes and tomato paste and mix well
4. Next add all the dry ingredients and cook for a minute or two except the turmeric
5. Next add the pre-boiled chickpeas and cook for a few minutes
6. Next add turmeric powder and salt and mix
7. Add the Red onion and thickly sliced tomatoes followed by chopped green chilli
8. Lastly add freshly chopped coriander leaves and whole chillies and remove off the heat
9.Serve with hot roti and fresh yogurt
