Capt Hassaan got married on 28th feb 2009... was father of 14 months old daughter Annaya and after four months of his Shahadat his son was born named Muhammad Bin Hassaan.
Capt Hassaan Abid was serving in 173 Medium Regiment Artillery deployed in Operation Al-mizan, performing duty of Battery Commander at Wariki Jani Khel(FR Bannu) with 4 sind regiment. On 8th february 2011 he volunteered to command a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) to patrol on route from Wariki Jani Khel to Jani Khel, as part of Brigade Domination plan. Due to rugged nature of terrain and high threat in the area, the clearing/securing of the route from any miscreant activity like Improvised Explosive Device etc has always remained a daunting task. Captain Hassaan always volunteered for all such challenging task and fulfilled them with utmost efficiency. On 8 Feb 2011 when the quick reaction force was moving in the area of Nasri Khel near Wariki Jani Khel a Remote Control Improvised Explosive Device (planted under the culvert in the centre of the track leading to Jani Khel) was exploded by miscreants while the vehicle of the officer was crossing over the culvert. Capt Hassaan sustained multiple injuries in the blast and embraced Shahadat at the spot.
In recognition to the act of extreme devotion to duty, feat of valour in the face of danger and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty he is awarded with tamgha-e-Basalat.
Just 3 days before his shahadat e asked his wife that if something happens... he shoul be barried besides his mother's grave...
He was planning to reach home on 9 feb... yes.. he reached home.. but was sealed in coffen n was wrapped in green flag...
Capt Hassaan Abid Shaheed is barried in his hometown Bahawalpur and his grave is besides his mother's grave.
