Aspire Predator G7750-U222 gaming pc 2010

Features,Performance and Design

The Predator has an adjustable faceplate. Only once you lift the plate you will reveal the stylized front panel of system. In order to remove the side panels, unscrewing the face plate’s anchor points is must. Once you get inside the system, you can see more stylized components. Over the memory, CPU and the expansion slots Acer has put the orange plastic covering. The reason behind this is, it has to be removed often either to expand or upgrade the removable components.

The Predator has the front accessible drive trays. On each bay an activity light exist to show if the drive is free or occupied. The Operating system used is the Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 930 processor is used. Predator is a fixed configuration PC and there are few vendors who offer similar specification at this price range. Dell gives a similar configuration in Studio XPS 9100 for price tag $1,730, but it comes with no liquid cooling option and more reserved case design.

The only issue regarding this Predator when equated with the value is the absence of the Blu-ray drive. Still we have seen fair number of desktops with Blu-ray which are less expensive including the Dell Studio XPS 7100. You might be expecting more gaming performance from this system and you might also want to play at high detail and more large display, then Acer has also provided a second graphics card. You have space to add second optical drive and also three spare hard drive slots through the front loading drive trays. External devices also can be connected to the Predator via given 5 USB 2.0 jacks at the front panel. Back panel includes standard Firewire, six USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet jack, 7.1 analog audio jacks, S/PDIF digital audio and eSATA ports

Predator, the only right performance oriented Intel core i7 900 processor based PC that we have reviewed recently. Other PC’s with the same price tag include either Intel Core i7 8000 based CPU’s or the AMD Phenom II 1055T based CPU’s. Most of the gamers should be fine with the stock configuration. Predator offers really decent performance, which is a combination of GeForce GTX graphics card, core i7 930 CPU and 12 GB of RAM. Acer provides one year warranty for both parts and labour. Acer’s website is however useless for support. Technical problems can be sorted out via toll free phone support.
