AMD ATI FirePro V7750 Graphics Accelerator

Post by Ahmad » Mar 29, 2009 Views: 819

AMD ATI FirePro V7750 Graphics Accelerator: The 3D graphics accelerator improves on the earlier FireGL V7700 with 1GB of frame buffer memory and OpenGL 3.0 support; it also gets a familiar 128-bit memory controller, a 30-bit display pipeline as well as 320 stream (visual effects) processors. PCI Express 2.0 support gives it more bandwidth on newer mainboards. The card meant for graphics professionals in the engineering, digital content creation or scientific fields.

The card will be available on HP workstations or as a standalone for other existing and future systems, and includes two DisplayPort outputs as well as one Dual Link DVI-I output. Each DVI output supports 18-, 24-, and 30-bit digital displays at resolutions up to 2560x1600 and has a dual-link HDCP encoder for playback of copy-protected content. Compared to the older FireGL V7700, however, the new card loses the HD component video output.

The FirePro V7750 also accelerates ATI Stream applications, taking load off the CPU by using the GPU for specific computing-intensive tasks. High Dynamic Range (HDR) rendering with 8-bit, 10-bit and 16-bit-per-RGB color component is supported; users can draw own full Shader Model 4.1 support for vertex and pixel shaders. There remains a unified video decoder for high-definition H.264, AVC, VC-1 and MPEG-2 video formats.

The ATI FirePro V7750 currently supports Windows XP, Windows Vista and Linux systems and ships now for $899.
