Prices vary largely based on the preloaded software, and the T7G model includes Windows Vista Business but also comes with a Windows XP CD. The T8G and T8GG include Office Personal 2007 SP1 with PowerPoint 2007 SP1. The three models with the double G designation -- T7GG, T8GG and T9GG -- are equipped with a KDDI CDMA 1X WIN communications module for access to a wireless data network while on the go. Like a cellphone talk or data plan, however, the service requires a monthly subscription fee.
The 63A battery used in the SSD notebooks gives them a claimed 12.5 hours of battery life, while the same battery in the HDD-equipped notebooks will last 11.5 hours, Toshiba says. A standard 32A battery should last 6.2 hours. While they are not certified by any standards, the SSD-equipped SS RX2 notebooks will be able to withstand drops from up to 30 inches and shake off 100ml of liquid without a problem, Toshiba claims. The T9G is the lightweight of the bunch, tipping the scales at a claimed 1.9lbs.
