During CES 2013 event, the Chinese company from Shenzhen has introduced three walkie-talkie-styled phones, the Runbo X1, the Runbo X3, and the Runbo X5. These handsets are a rugged device and come with external antenna that remains to walkie-talkie. The Runbo X3 and X5 are a rugged Android smartphone, while the Runbo X1 is IP67-certified feature phone.



Runbo X1 Rugged Phone has a 2-inch display with a resolution of 176 x 144 pixel, laser pointer, and loud speaker. It has also 0.3MP front-facing camera and a 2200mAh battery. As connectivity, the Runbo X1 featurephone works in quad-band GSM, 800MHz CDMA, and 400 to 470MHz range for software-ready walkie-talkie. New Runbo X1 will be available in coming days in China for cost 980 Yuan that’s mean about $160.



Both Runbo X5 and X3 have similar specs, also runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The difference, new Runbo X3 has a full physical QWERTY keyboard and a 3.5-inch IPS display with 800 x 480 resolutions. The Runbo X5 packs a 4.3-inch touchscreen IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Runbo X5 and X3 Android smartphones boast a 1GHz Cortex-A9 MTK6577 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. It has a microSD card slot, laser pointer, a removable 3,800mAh battery, an 8MP camera on the back, and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. Like X1 phone, the Runbo X5 and X3 smartphones support for 400 to 470MHz walkie-talkie and range up to 10km with detachable antenna.

These IP67-certified Android smartphones are available for price of 1,999 Yuan (around $320).
