Electronics giant Samsung has unveiled a 31-inch active-matrix organic light emitting diode, more commonly known as simply AMOLED, screen.
With this, Samsung gets the distinction of being the world’s first display maker to develop such a large AMOLED screen.

AMOLEDs produce light when electricity is applied to organic materials. This enables generating brighter and clearer images as compared to the normal liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and plasma display panels (PDPs).
The latest 31-inch Samsung TV developed from the new AMOLED screen will be shown at the forthcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Before this, Samsung’s 27-inch AMOLED screen was the largest one in this category.
