He attended and graduated from St. Josephs College in Bangalore. He was first noticed when he was modeling for a fashion company, and he soon received his first film offer. His debut "Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi" opposite Rinke Khanna was a flop, but he got his breakthrough roles with the Rajiv Menon film Kandukondain Kandukondain and the horror film Raaz.

Dino moved from Bangalore to Mumbai in 1996 to participate in the prestigious Gladrags Manhunt Contest, where he was declared the undisputed winner. He then went on to win the second place at the International Manhunt Contest, and once there; there was no looking back. Flooded with offers for ramp shows and press advertisements, he not only got a chance to work with the top designers of the country, he bagged illustrious endorsements for brands including Colgate, Live in Jeans, Polo, Red Tape Shoes, 7-Up, Siyaram and Bisleri. He also appeared in music videos for a host of artistes including Bali Brahmbhatt, Alisha Chinai and Abhijit.
