Kyocera Torque G02 is the one of the most tough and rugged smartphone as the company claim that this is the first smartphone that is resistant to sea water. The GO2 comes with a rating that meets military standards that include being resistant to shocks, dust and water, along with sea water. What’s more the device is able to take photos in the ocean. The software of the camera comes with a special underwater mode to ensure that the colors remain vivid when taking shots underwater.

The handset has been tested to survive dust storms, humidity, low pressure and extremes in temperature along with being iced and thawed. The device is aimed at surfers, climbers, runners and campers and is packed with phone apps that make it easy to track weather and water conditions along with providing offline maps and an exercise tracker.

The GO2 has a display of 4.7 in HD and is made from IGZO material and is very responsive to the touch. It also has technology called Smart Sonic Receiver to make the sound in calls better, along with dual front facing speakers.

The Kyocera GO2 is rugged and tougher than many phones on the market while having mid-level specs. It is thought that the processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with a quad core CPU which runs at 1.4GHz along with the Adreno 305 GPU. There is 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of storage and the storage is expandable due to SD card. The device runs on Android 5.1, supports 4G and offers a camera of 13MP along with one of 5MP on the front.

No pricing has been announced yet but if the past phones offered by the company are to go on then it should compare with the middle of the range Android flagship devices on the market. At the moment it will be available only in Japan.
