Judging by what we see, Shahid Kapoor's performance as Haider may well be a career best. He plays a man, determined to seek revenge for his father's death and driven half-mad by his intentions. Haider's father's dying wish is that his son kill his corrupt uncle (Kay Kay Menon), who had lustful designs on his mother (Tabu). Shraddha Kapoor is this production's Ophelia, playing Shahid's love interest in the film. The film also stars the immensely talented Irrfan Khan.
The movie also features some stunning scenes of Jammu and Kashmir, where it was extensively shot for months.
Shahid and Vishal had last come together to make the critically acclaimed 'Kaminey' and it seems like they have an encore on their hands with 'Haider'. Only time will tell if the film will be accepted by mainstream audiences, but from what we see, we are already extremely impressed!
'Haider' will release on October 2.
