Antec VERIS Multimedia Stations Create Ad Hoc HTPCs

Post by sheeza » Aug 11, 2008 Views: 7960

Antec new set of VERIS bundles that turn existing desktops into home theater PCs. The Multimedia Station line is headed by the Premier, which provides a full two-bay front panel with dials, input, and playback controls to navigate content without having to use a mouse or keyboard. It also supplies an add-on IR receiver and a matching remote as part of its $120 price.

The Elite at $100 simplifies the setup for small form factor PCs or more economic users and has just a single-bay front end with an LCD and volume controls; a simpler-still Basic model at $40 includes just a bay-mounted IR receiver and the remote, while an E-Z variant is designed for notebooks or the smallest desktops with a USB receiver, remote, and a smaller $30 price.

The Multimedia Station hardware should be available soon and is recognizable by Windows Media Center systems; it also comes bundled with iMEDIAN HD software that fills in for media hub tasks without having to use specific versions of Windows.
