iBuyPower Amateur Video Editors - New VideoPC Line

Post by Ahmad » Aug 11, 2008 Views: 193060

iBuyPower turned to amateur video editors and launched the VideoPC line. The entire line focuses on speeding up video encoding and makes quad-core standard across all three systems rather than higher-clocked dual core chips; each also comes with a 64-bit version of Windows Vista and enough RAM to cache most video in RAM rather than slow down the system through accessing the 1TB+ of hard drive storage. Adobe Premiere Elements and Pinnacle Dazzle are bundled with each system to give newcomers a genuine video editing and DVD authoring tool from the start.

The entry Video Bot model at $1,299 serves as the baseline with a 2.5GHz Core 2 Quad, 4GB of memory, dual 500GB hard drives in a RAID stripe for faster access, and a GeForce 9800 GT for video acceleration. Moving to the Video Pro ($1,799) increases the clock speed to 2.83GHz, doubles the memory to 8GB, and swaps in a Radeon HD 4850 for video needs.

An ultimate Video Extreme model ($4,299) is the most radical change and uses Intel's fastest mainstream chip, the 3.2GHz Core 2 Extreme, upgrades the video to a Radeon HD 4870, and significantly upgrades the storage with a 64GB solid-state drive for booting Windows and dual 1TB hard drives in RAID. It and the more mainstream two systems are both available today.
