Sound specialist Sennheiser announced a unique competition called ‘Create Our Sound’. Now, this contest has come to India. Read on, to find out more about it. Sennheiser is on the look out for a unique sound logo, which in simple words is a short, acoustic signature tune.
The company invites musicians, composers, sound designers and creative minds to participate in the ‘Create Our Sound’ logo.
Each entry must be at least eight seconds long. The clip should be uploaded here, in MP3 format in stereo, 128 kb/s, max. 10MB.
The contest ends on July 17, 2008. The best part is that each entrant can send in up to 5 entries.
By August 2008 end, 30 finalists will be selected, after which their ‘sound logos’ will be judged by a panel of international jury.
So what does an audio specialist sound like?
According to Susanne Seidel, President of Global Marketing at Sennheiser, “That’s precisely what we’d like to find out with the help of music enthusiasts around the world. Our customers have huge creative potential, and having fun composing and messing about with music and sound lies at the heart of the sound logo competition.”
“The public will be a virtual member of the judging panel of five. You too can vote for your favorite sound logo via the Web site,” added Seidel.
Okay, now here comes the main part of it all because a competition would be a good one without any prizes! The winner of Sennheiser’s contest will receive a prize of 5000 euros as well as an optional 30,000 euros if Sennheiser acquires unlimited rights to use the winning logos.
Those who land in the 2nd to 10th place will win amazing sound-related gadgets. They can choose between Sennheiser’s dynamic HD 650 headphones or an evolution wireless ew 300 G2 microphone system.
“We’re really looking forward to receiving entries from all corners of the world. There’ll be an explosion of musical creativity,” Susanne Seidel concluded by saying.
