Australian clothing brand Threadsmiths introduced world's first hydrophobic shirt with nanotechnology that repels water and dirt. The technology used to create these shirts is an extreme form of water proof and dust proof that involves modifying the fundamental nature of surfaces, making them super-hydrophobic. Their new line of 100 percent cotton t-shirts , called 'The Cavalier', are available for men and women at $65 a piece.
WATER-PROOF, DIRT-PROOF, AND STILL HIGHLY BREATHABLE: The patented nano-tech enhances the material’s resistance to water and stains, without diminishing the natural breathability of the cotton. This nano-tech minimises the surface area for water and dirt to adhere to, causing it to bead up and roll off the fabric - creating a natural self-cleaning effect.
EASY TO WASH: Washing the Cavalier T-shirt is simple - they are fully machine and hand washable and will retain their water repellency properties up to 80 wash cycles. To reactivate The Cavalier’s water repellency, simply tumble dry at normal to low heat at every few washes.
CLASSIC DESIGN: We are very particular about the finer details of our design and the application of advanced fabric technology. We collaborated with a world-renowned creative director to design an iconic T-shirt that is as stylish as it is smart. For additional durability and longevity, we integrated the same flat lock stitching technology used in scuba gear.
CLEAN, SAFE, INSPIRED BY NATURE: While many other hydrophobic applications and aerosols contain harmful chemicals, our shirts emulate the natural hydrophobic properties of the lotus leaf. The Cavalier shirt contains no aerosol applications and no dangerous chemicals, and is completely safe to wear - as a shirt should be.
