Only 10 of the Ferrari 275 GTB/4 S Nart Spider cars were made and the one belonging to Eddie Smith Snr. sold at RM Auctions in 2013 for US $27, 700,000. When the car had been fully restored it was stunning and it came with more than just looks, it features a V12 engine that offered 300bhp.

The 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale was auctioned in 2014 by RM Auctions and the car sold for US$26, 400, 000. It was hand built with aluminium bodywork and came with a V12 engine producing 320 horsepower.

The V12 4.9 litre Ferrari 375 - One of the most expensive cars to be sold at auction was a V12 4.9 litre Ferrari 375 than ran in the Mille Miglia. The car was neglected and half forgotten about and key parts along with the engine were separated. The body of the car was stolen and this resulted in a legal dispute that went on for many decades. Finally, thanks to mediation by Bonhams auction house, all of the original parts were reunited and it was restored to its original condition before being sold at US$16, 380,895. This puts it firmly among the top 10 most valuable cars to have sold in an auction.
