Lenovo India has announced Idea, a PC brand in India. The latest IdeaPad notebooks and IdeaCentre desktops have been designed with frameless screens, touch-sensitive control surfaces and unique textures. They key features of the new Idea range are One Key Recovery, outstanding durability, anti-bacterial keyboard and an extended battery management feature.

The Lenovo IdeaPad range includes IdeaPad Y710 for Gaming Enthusiasts, IdeaPad Y510 for ultimate entertainment and IdeaPad U110. While the IdeaCentre series consists of IdeaCentre K200 Desktops and IdeaCentre Q200 Desktops.

Lenovo designed its Idea-branded PCs for the way people live, work and play with cutting-edge features. We are confident we will grow our consumer business by blending innovative technologies like facial recognition with stylish designs to enhance the way people use technology in their personal lives,” said Liu Jun, senior vice president and president, Consumer Business Group, Lenovo.

The 17-inch widescreen IdeaPad Y710 is ideal for gamers. It boasts a Game Zone that includes enlarged directional buttons for enhanced game play, four user-customizable buttons. Besides, it also features Halo Lighting to emit a different color light from the side bezel and Lenovo logo on the front of the notebook and secondary display showing system information such as CPU speed. Furthermore the IdeaPad Y710 is equipped with the Intel Centrino processor technology, ATI graphics, WLAN connectivity, five speakers including a subwoofer.

The IdeaPad Y510 features an all-in-one 15.4-inch widescreen and Dolby 4.1 Home Theater speaker system for enhanced sound output and theatre experience. In-built TV tuner, sleek touch-sensitive pad, DVD-RW optical drive and One Key Recovery to restore factory preload settings are the salient features of the IdeaPad Y510 notebook. Also, it sports Intel Centrino processor technology, integrated graphics, WLAN connectivity, five speakers including a subwoofer and an integrated camera.

The IdeaPad U110 is the CES Best of 2008, Las Vegas. It features an ultraportable 11.1-inch LED display and weighs only 1.05 kg. The notebook’s design is embedded in its red aluminum alloy top cover, blending style and durability. Furthermore, it is equipped with Active Protection System, an air-bag like device that parks the hard drive to help protect data during a fall.

The IdeaCentre K200 Desktop is especially engineered for families. The desktop includes Lenovo’s Bright Vision for eyesight protection, an anti-bacterial keyboard and Card Reader Support and Dual tone color. One-key recovery, one-key anti-virus, file management and installing drivers and software are key features of the K200 Desktops.

The IdeaCentre Q200 is a living room digital performance PC. It features a slim design and has a style-based on an absolute harmony of straight lines and pure colors underlying the visible world and takes inspiration from the Artist Piet Mondrian. The IdeaCentre Q200 also incorporates one-key recovery, one-key anti-virus, file management and installing drivers and software. Besides, it comes along with Vista remote control.

The IdeaPad Y510 and IdeaCentre K200 are now available at Lenovo authorized stores, whereas the IdeaPad Y710 and IdeaPad U110 will be available in April 2008. The IdeaPad range starts from Rs. 42,000 and the IdeaCentre from Rs. 23,050.
