Eye-Fi Video SD Cards

Post by vicked.vicky » Mar 19, 2009 Views: 760

Eye-Fi Share Video and Eye-Fi Explore Video SD cards. The new models move to SDHC to get a total of 4GB in storage and now also support direct uploading of short-form videos over Wi-Fi to Flickr and YouTube in addition to still photos at Flickr and other sites. As before, the Explore adds geotagging to locate shots.

The new cards should be available later in March at prices of $79 for the Share Video and $99 for the Explore Video. Eye-Fi adds that the feature bump lets it drop the prices on its entry Wi-Fi cards, which now start at $49 for a basic 2GB Eye-Fi Home and $59 for the original Eye-Fi Share; the earlier Eye-Fi Explore has been dropped.

Simultaneously, the company expects to release an iPhone and iPod touch app this week that lets users upload photos from either Apple device to the same photo sharing services accessed from Eye-Fi cards. Although the app itself will be free, using it will require an Eye-Fi account and thus one of the company’s cards.
