God was in the process of creating the universe.
And he was explaining to his subordinates "Look everything should be in
balance. For example, after every 10 deer there should be a lion.
Look here my fellow angels, here is the country of the United States.
I have blessed them with prosperity and money.
But at the same time I have given them insecurity and tension....
And here is Africa. I have given them beautiful nature.
But at the same time, I have given them climatic extremes.
And here is South America. I have given them lots of forests.
But at the same time, I have given them lesser land so that they would
have to cut off the forests...
So you see fellows, everything should be in balance.
One of the angels asked...
"God, what is this extremely beautiful country here?"
God said....... "Ahah...that is the crown piece of all. "INDIA",
My most precious creation.
It has understanding and friendly People.
Sparkling streams and serene mountains.
A culture which speaks of the great tradition that they live.
Technologically brilliant and with a heart of gold.....
The angel was quite surprised:
"But god you said everything should be in balance."
God replied -- "Look at the neighbours I gave them."

Occupied Kashmir??? Kashmir was always a part of India since last 7000 years.
India accepted all religious beliefs historically, no other country maybe except US has such open systems, you can be of any religion and hold any office, just look at the ruling Congress party, all key people are from minority community, look at Bollywood, there are several examples. Can any other Country say that? Ask me how I know that? I know it first hand, I am a qualified engineer with double Masters, and struggled for a simple job in Canada for almost a decade, just because I wasn't of a "certain type".

I never wanted this to be a platform to discuss who is right and who is wrong. First and foremost we all belong to a very large family of human beings, not surprisingly one study found that we are all related by blood to every other human being on the face of earth.
Agreed, It used to be Hindustan to begin with, but people raised an objection that it sounds too communal, since people with other beliefs also live there, so the name India was adopted, with ref. to the Indus valley, alternately Bharat is also another name, but is hardly used Internationally. See, this is democracy.
After travelling around the world, I saw so many things, and given me a new prospective in life and it really makes me think. People can practice their religious beliefs openly, no matter which religion they are from. Can any other country say that? Ask me, since I faced discrimination, could not get a job for a long time despite having all the qualifications, and could openly see people getting jobs just because they were of a certain type.
Mir55, I do not know what is the message you want to convey, sorry I did not understand it. I think you wanted to convey that there are hungry people in India. Agreed, there is so much of variety of people in India, that you cannot find anywhere else, there are people who struggle for food, and then there are Indians who have made it to the list of world's richest people as well. No country except maybe Vatican City can claim that there are people who do not struggle for food.
As far as Narendra Modi is concerned, he is a politician, and I do want to say anything new about him which you do not know. But unfortunately, events like train blasts, blasts in market places, 26/11, resulting in killing innocent people, fuel these people, also importantly murder of Cows for food, which Hindus worship as mother since medieval times, and politicians who raise these issues get popular support. There are people who do not want India and Pakistan to be friends, since they have their vested interests.
We as young people have to take initiatives to progress ahead, and bring down the barriers, but it is very difficult in real life. One thing we can do is respect each others religious beliefs, not to encroach on them, and not to take it out in public and it should remain as a very personal matter.
Personally I try to help fellow human, whichever way I can, even in a small way. I do not care which race, religion etc. they are from.
