Though Devdas has been adapted on screen many times and by some illustrious filmmakers like P.C.Barua and Bimal Roy, Dev.D still appears fresh and riveting, a tale of love lost and self-destruction.

Anurag Kashyap's romance drama, Dev.D, is a modern-day take on Sarat Chandra's 1917 classic novel Devdas, with Abhay Deol as Devdas and two debutants - Mahi Gill as Paro and Kalki as Chandramukhi. UTV Spot Boy has released a theatrical trail for the film due for release on December 19.
