Sega of America has announced that it is developing a game title for the Nintendo DS gaming system. This title adds to the Bleach game which is slated to hit the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms anytime in 2008. The latest game named “Bleach: Dark Souls” will feature non-stop action and swordplay along with an expanded cast of characters that have a voiceover rendered by the actors from the series.
Bleach: Dark Souls takes place between seasons 1 and 2 of the animated series. Comprising of a dynamic cast of more than 40 playable characters such as Rukia, Kon and hero Ichigo, Sega has made an exclusive story arc exclusively for the game. For the very first time gamers will be able to take the role of Evil Hollows. It employs a traditional 2D fighting game format with advanced visuals
In the title gamers will be able to make customized Spirit Card Decks. Thanks to the bundling of power-enhancing Reiju Crystals, players will be able too build up the character’s heath, attack strength and defense power cards. In addition, the game also has four player multiplayer battles via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and DS Download Play, along with a Bleach encyclopedia that offers detailed explanations.

Sega games have enjoyed enormous success in North America, Bleach is a top seller in both Japan and the US, and we are expecting great fan response when Bleach: Dark Souls releases with a massive amount of new and exclusive features.”
New multiplayer games along with seven new gameplay modes have been packed in Bleach: Dark Souls.

Developed by popular Japanese developer Treasure, Bleach: Dark Souls for the Nintendo DS has been localized for North America and will be launched in Summer 2008. No word on the European launch yet.
